Description

The East Kent Goldings hops give this beer an earthy, spicy character while the malts and yeast contribute peach, red apple and a touch of wholemeal bread to the flavours and aroma. A beautifully balanced, full-flavoured premium lager, with a pronounced hoppy bitterness and a crisp, clean and refreshing finish, this is meant to be savoured.

Not that it’s been around for long. First bred in 1990, it only became commercially available around 2008. Since then, it’s had a big effect on craft brewing, lending its citrusy and tropical aromas to thousands of brews. A little more caramel flavour from the malts and a little more sweetness would have been more welcome. But there’s still enough variety in the flavour to keep things interesting. VerdictWith a smooth mouthfeel despite high carbonation, it’s sure to be a hit with traditional ale drinkers, despite its modern, hoppy aromas. Let’s face it – the average person couldn’t care less what hops are in their beer as long as they like it. In 2011, Sweden’s Spendrup brewery allowed staff to set up their own experimental microbrewery project. One of the project’s big successes was Pistonhead, a range of three lagers that Spendrup now exports to Europe and beyond. Lager is made with a yeast that sinks to the bottom of the fermenter and works at low temperatures, which usually results in a cleaner taste than ale.

Lowlander is known for brewing with botanicals like herbs, spices and fruit. This one features lemon and orange peel discarded by restaurants and bars.isn’t Guinness’s first non-alcoholic beer (see Kaliber and Pure Brew). But it’s the Dublin brewery’s most eagerly awaited.

Brewmasters at Stella Artois have worked with specialists to skilfully remove alcohol, without altering the unique taste . Aldi took their time bring alcohol-free beer to their shelves. This is a 0% version of what many think is their version of Stella Artois, “Sainte Etienne”. Ghost Ship 0.5%” is an aromatic and fruity pale ale with caramel and tropical fruits in the aroma and flavour. Find out how it’s made, plus get tasting notes, ingredients and key nutritional info including calories, carbs and sugar.Of course, there’s a bit more to it than that with lots of tech and science involved in removing the alcohol without negatively affecting the flavour. The beer is also dry hopped, which normally means more hops are added after fermentation, presumably after the alcohol is removed in Ghost Ship’s case. Otherwise, it’s the same as its alcoholic sibling, made with locally grown malt and Cascade, Chinook and Citra hops. Lost AF is another lager that uses hops more commonly found in modern pale ales, this time the Citra hop.
